Holy Ramadhan

My lecturer once said, purpose of sahur is to prepare the energy needed to function for the day and iftar is to bring low blood glucose levels back to normal. If we take less portion of iftar and eat more before dawn, much calories will surely be burnt. Good.

But, looking at my muffin top that keeps getting bigger and bigger, now I know I have practiced it in opposite way.

Happy fasting readers!
A month with full of blessing and rewards.

Enough sedation

Finally, I've met the super-tiring department - Anesthesiology.

It was insanely tiring I tell you. For everyday, Monday to Saturday, you have to be in meeting room at 0630 sharp and going back just after 4 or 5 pm. Too bad if you were ER on duty and had to assist 2 or 3 operations from midnight till dawn. Urgh. Can you imagine how cranky I am on the next day?

My day? Ruined. My dinner plan with friends? Evaporated.

Well, that depends on your tolerance level. For me, I am very sure, my limit is extreme-low. Anesthesiologist will obliviously not suit me well, even tho the knowledge of this field is so interesting. In fact, your role in operation room is much important than those surgeons. You have to be responsible on what flaws that might happen because of them but if the operation succeed, just do not dream to get congratulated. You are invisible. Unseen.

Thank you

A one-year-old patient checked-out from hospital this morning, and just before he left the ward, his parents came to me and said, thank you.

Yes, it wasn't me who did the treatment planning or I.V infusion, it was my senior doctor and nurses. I did nothing actually except checking him up every morning, listening to crackles on his lungs and counting his respiration rate and heart beat. That's all.

But, when they thanked me with all their genuine sincerity, it does feel great.

post-mortem on department three

Who said no departments is boring to everyone?? Then I'm sure you haven't entered forensic yet.

I was dead bored there and nothing excited me. I had 5 autopsies (if you count the suspected-fetus corpse which turned out to be a placenta in) and the procedures are very monotonous unlike as seen on CSI. Oh, did I tell you, I had way too much tedious homework too?? Okay, I admit, I'm exaggerating a little bit but the only thing had bothered me was the system. Screw you ''signatures''!

However, there are lessons I've learned, for example, all things in this world will wither away and die and life, is full of surprises. Remember people, nothing teaches us about life more than death itself.

my department three members and yes, we are all Malaysians at Yang di-Pertuan Agong's Birthday Celebration.

Anyway, this is my next stop,
Department Four : Pediatrics

I don't know how horrible/exciting my life will be afterward but I am sure sick kids ain't cute.
